MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. From Our Own Correspondent. Mr H. Bond, president of the club, presided over a meeting of the committee on Monday evening. Ho and Mr Walker reported the business dono at the Association meeting recently held at Awahuri, especially dealing with the need of representation of the Eangiotu Club at the Championship Meeting to be held on King Street range at an early date. It was resolved that the club be represented and that, if possible, a team be entered to compete in the-Teams Match. The Secretary reported that as the shooting had been generally of a low standard all club entrants would be entitled to shoot f‘B ,J grade. Members willing to make, a trip should at once communicate with the secretary of the'club so that nominations may be forwarded to the Association secretary by Saturday night. A resolution was passed to the effect that any member being absent from/ weekly club practice for three consecutive weeks, automatically loses his place
on the ladder, and must make at least one shoht before being again eligible for a place in a tcam.^ The committee is indebted to Messrs Searaueke, Chapman and Thompson for making a new firing mound for the club. This has been long needed and will before many weeks materially improve the standard of shooting.. The effect was very evident even from the start, and when the members become more accustomed to the improved conditions there will be a gradual drift from “3” grad to “A" grade shooting. At least this is the optimistic feeling now prevalent.. The competition for the trophy was not completed and the leaders will fire off next Monday evening. The scores were as follow: — hdc. total
