MANAWATU SCOUTS’ EXECUTIVE MEETS
The executive of the Mannwatu BoJ Scouts. w.ssociation'met last night when matters of general interest to the pro gross of the movement were dealt with. There■ were present: Messrs IL. p. Stubbs (in the chair), Commissioner D. E. Dredge, District Scoutmaster, F. Carpenter, H. J. Simmonds, A. Grlgor, Scoutmaster P. T. Vasey, Miss Newman and C. L. Turnbull (ton. secretary). Apologies were received from Cubmistress Elliott, Mr. C. W. White, Mr. H. Wright, ' Scoutmistress Coles, Mr, H. McDowell and -Mr. G. Lyne. The Scout Cup. The secretary was authorised to communicate with the trpops at Marton, Bulls, Feilding and Palmerston North to invito challenges for the Scout Football Cup. This Cup is at present held by Wanganui and challenges should reach the secretary by July 31. The recommendations for long service medals for Scoutmistress ' Coles, and Cubmistress Elliott of Palmerston North were forwarded on to the Dominion headquarters. The First Marton Troop- acknowledged with thanks the receipt of the medals won during the Caledonian Society’s meeting at Easter. The matter of endeavouring, to form' a cub pack at All Saints ■ was left ia the hands of Miss Newman and Mr. Vasey. Curtailing Boundaries. It was decided to recommend to Dominion Headquarters that the southern boundary of the Manawatu Scouts Association bo the Manawatu riverThe Southern Hawke’s Bay Association are to bo asked to take over the jurisdiction of the Woodvillc pack. The various scout committees arc to be circularised suggesting that they increase their membership and take a more live'interest in the movement. The A.S.M warrant issued to A. W. S. Carson’was returned to Scout , Headquarters, Christchurch, for cancellation, Mr. Carson having left Palmerston North to reside in the North Auckland province. Owing to their increasing numbers it .was suggested that the To Awe. Awe | pack be divided into two. The Y.W. C.A. and Girl Citizens’ Association arc to be communicated with to secure suitable young ladies as cubmistresses.
