SOCIAL CLUB
on Saturday evening last in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Cuba street, the Social Club held its usual weekly euchre tourney when there were 160 players present. At- the conclusion of 21 keenlycontested games, the following were declared the prize-winners—Ladies, Mrs.Gold, J-ton coal; Mrs. Collins, 701 b. bag sugar; Mrs. Trask, 51b. box tea; Mrs.,; Terry, 251 b. bag'flour; Mrs. Seifert,” bag coal; Mrs. Ritchie, 11b. tea; Mrs. M'Brearty, fireshovel. Men, Mr.. E. fie Cleenc, 3-ton coal; Mr. Trenbath, '(01b. bag sugar; Mr. Munn, 51b. box tea; Mr., -A. Richards, 251 b. bag flour; Mr. Smith bag coal; Mr. Reddy, 11b. tea; Mr. Gilbert, fireshovel. The special consolation - prize (a valuable umbrella, donated by ■ Mr. Letherby) was won by Mrs. Collins. The following, in addition to those already published and those yet to be decided, will participate in the play-off ■ next Saturday night for the gold-wrist-let watch: Mr. J. Olsen, Miss Cohr, Sir. . Hall, all with a score of Bj. The'highest. score registered was 173 out of a total of 24 games played. It was announced that next Saturday, July T, was the final night for the gold wristlet watch, and all those who have been fortunate enough' to be; in the play-off ’ should make an effort to attend, a very pleasant evening was concluded by the partaking of supper, and the presentation of the prizes.
