Fourteen are dead and many injured as tho result of a riot between Hindus and Moslems during tao Mos»s.a Mohurrum procession at Ivhargpur, near Calcutta. Tho Moslems were carrying an image past a Sikh.’s temple with music when the procession was attacked by tho latter. I ' Armed police and troops were called cut and quiet restored, but later the Moslems beat a Hindu coolio to death with rods.
A fierce fight ensued between the communities. Eight were killed outright. In a fresh outbreak five were killed, including two women.
