Australians in Finals Of London Tournament

As a result of a week’s play in the North London tournament the Australians figure in the finals of all live events to-morrow. To-day’s matches attracted an increased attendance. Moon was not troubled in beating the former Indian Davis Cup player, A. A. Fyzeo. The American, Brunic, pushed Cummings hard in the first set and led 5-4, 6-5. Then Cummings found his length and outdrove the American. Miss Boyd was at the top of her form against Mrs. O'Hara Wood. , Miss Akhurst put up a great fight against Miss Ryan, whoso heavy chops were made more deadly by the heavy turf. Miss Ryan, in the first set, led 4-1. Then Miss Akhurst pulled up, 4-4. Hawkcs and Fisher defeated Moon and Cummings after an attractive match, in which close volleying was the main feature The South Australians Roberts and Wilde reached the final of the junior doubles by hard hitting. Mrs. O’Hara Wood and Miss Bickerton found Miss Ryan and Mrs. Lycott too strong. The Australians took the first set, and led 4-2, when 40-15, in the second, but their opponents, changing their tactics, making net play a feature, took the set in the 18th game. In the Davis Cup match between Holland and Austria Timmcr (Hdlland) beat Matojka (Austria), 2-6, 5-7, 6-0, 6-3, 6-4. Dicmerkool (Holland) defeated Aliens (Austria), 6-3, 4-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.
