. DOUBLE, WEDDING • BURMEISTER—CHRISTENSEN SPENCER—CHRISTENSEN. The Lutheran Church, Churcli Street, Palmerston North was crowded with interested friends and guests on Wednesday morning, the occasion being a double wedding. The contracting parties Wore Miss Vera Christensen,' youngest daughter of the Rev. and Mrs M. Christensen, Church Street, Palmerston North, and Mr. Albert - Burmeister, ’oldest son of Mr and Mrs M. Burmeisfer,. Kairanga, and Miss Anna Christensen, sister of Miss Vera Christensen, and Mr. Jack Spencer, son Mrs and the late Mr. Spencer, of Wellington. ....rMr. John Christensen, a brother of the brides, escorted Miss Yera to tho altar, the latter wearing for her bridal gown, a charming ivory embossed chenille, and georgette frock with the customary- veil and orange blossom. The bride carried a bouquet of cream chrysanthemums and azaleas, interspersed with asparagus fern. The bridesmaids were Miss Minnie Christensen ,twin sister of the bride, wearing" a powder blue georgette frock and a tulle veil. Her bouquet was of blue hydrangeas. Miss Laura Burmeister, sister of the bridegroom, choso a frock .of shell pink georgette with a tulle veil, and her bouquet was composed of pink chrysanthemums. Mr. Oscar Burmeister was best man, and Mr Hafold Christensen was groomsman. Mr. H. Christensen, of Taihape, brother of the brides, gave Miss Anna away, who wore creme georgette and embossed chenille with an uneven hem line, her lovely veil was held by clusters of orange blossom. Tho brides bouquet was of chrysanthemums, azaleas, and maiden hair fern. Miss L. Christensen, first bridesmaid was attired in a georgette frock of apricot with a bouquet to tone. Miss V. Neilsen, second bridesmaid, wore eau-de-nil georgette, bouquet to tone. The 'BeV.: A. Christensen, was best man, and Mr. V. Christensen groomsman. The Rev. M. Christensen, father of the brides performed tho ceremonies. A reception was held at the Orange Hall. Mrs Christenson, mother of the brides, received her guests, wearing a frock of, black marocain, with beige facings an autumn tinted bouquet was carried. Mrs Burmeister and Mrs Spencer, mothers' of the bridegrooms, wore respectively, black marocain with fawn facings, posy of autumn tints, and a smartly tailored navy costume, with a bouquet of autumn tints. The bride, w r ho entered the church on tho arm' on her guardian, Mr. Ber nard Ward, Hastings, was attired in an exquisite model frock of cream georgette trimmed with pearls and diamante. Her veil, which was beautifully hand embroidered by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd Church, was fastened at the back with the customary orange blossom. She carried a bouquet of cream flowers and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids—Miss Eva Parsons, Kairanga, in . blue georgette and lace, and Miss- Freda Ward, Auckland, in lemon georgette, artistically stencilled. Both carried dainty posies to match their frocks Mr. M. Palmer was best man, while Mr. J. Brice acted as .groomsman. At the breakfast Mr. Poppelwell proposed the toast of the bride, tho bridegroom suitably responding. An interesting wedding was solemnised at tho Salvation Army Citadel, Broadway, on Wednesday, when Vera, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. York, College Street, and Oswald, ■fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Prerase, of Kairanga, were united in the bonds of holy .matrimony. '' A'djht-ant Eraser, of Wanganui, performed tho ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, was daintily attired in a pale pink georgette gown with an overskirt of silver lace and silver shoes and stockings to tone She-wore a beautiful veil with coronet of orange blossom and carried a bouquet of pale pink and white roses and chrysanthemums and maiden hair fern. The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Gladys York, and Miss Mona Mortonsou. Tho former, ■who was chief bridesmaid, wore a pale green georgette frock with tissue bodice, pearl bandeaux and shoes and stockings cn suite. VSc. second bridesmaid was dressed in pale bine georgette with tissue bodice, tissue bandeau, and shoes and stbekings to match.. They both carried bouquets to correspond with their frocks. ... Mr: 'Claude Proviso attended ‘ the bridegroom as best man and Mr.- Howard York carried out tho duties of groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Broadway Lounge when there wore , over 40 guests. The usual toasts were honoiired.
