OROUA LICENSING COMMITTEE
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Oroua Licensing Committee was held at the Feilding Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., presided, and there were also present Messrs. H. Booth, E. Goodbehere, J. W. Bramwell, T. Watson, and P. G. Guy. Publicans licenses were granted to P. Oliver, Koyal Hotel, Bunnythorpe; Clara A. Parker, Eangiwahia Hotel; Stephen Gormey, Cheltenham Hotel; and Harry Burrows, Denbigh Hotel, Feilding. Permanent transfers were granted Clara A. Parker in the case of the Eangiwahia Hotel, and from D. D. M‘ Pherson to Harry Burrows in the case of the Denbigh Hotel, Feilding. Renewals of publicans licenses were granted in the following cases: William H. Hart, Empire Hotel, Feilding; Emma M‘ Carty, Commercial Hotel, Ashhurst; E. J. Smith, Huntcrvillo Hotel; A. J. Havill, Masonic Hotel, Ashhurst; H. A. Mitchell, Commercial Hotel, Kimbolton; W. N. Jones, Hastics Hotel, Feilding; A. S. Mollison, Halcombc Hotel; J. Winnard, Apiti Hotel; P. Burns, Manchester Hotel, Feilding; E. F. Woods, Eoyal Hotel, Ohingaiti; and J. Slade, Longholm Hotel, Mangaweka. In the case of A. J, Finn, Argyle Hotel, Hunterville, the application was adjourned on the application of the police until the September sitting of the Committee. Eenewals of wholesale licenses were granted Messrs. Barraud and Abraham Ltd. Feilding, T. G. Taylor, Hunterville, and W. N. Watson, Mangaweka. With regard to the question as to the hour at which outside lights on licensed premises should be extinguished, the Committee decided to fix 10 p.m. The police report as to the conduct of the different houses during the year was generally favourable.
