Mrs. T. Long, and Miss Long, (Stratford) are at present in Palmerston North.
Mrs. P. B. Cooke, who has been the guest of Mrs. F. H. Cooke, Palmerston North, has returned to Wellington.
Mrs. S. W. Eapley and family have returned to Palmerston North after having spent the school vacation at the Manawatu Heads.
Miss Cooper, Christchurch, is the guest of her sister-in-law, - Mrs. J. Holmes Runniclos, Palmerston North.
Mrs. C. Donovan, of Eongotea, with her two children is staying with her mother Mrs H. L. Clark, of Palmerston North.
Mrs A. D. Scott, of Eongotea, is at present staying in Dannevirkc with her daughter, Mrs F. Edmonds.
The death is announced by cable from London of England’s most finished comedy actress, Miss Marie Compton. She was the widow of E. C. Carton the dramatist (who died on April Ist of this year), and played the leading parts in her husband’s productions. The' cable states that Miss Compton died of grief.
