FEILDING POST OFFICE
ANNUAL PICNIC. The annual picnic of the Feilding Post and Telegraph Office, was held lat tho Raumal Bridge, Pohangina Valley, at the week-end when a very enjoyable day was spent. The weather was ideal and the locality could not be improved upon, with tho river for swimming, a tennis court nearby, and a good running track. Thanks are extended to the following business firms who so generously donated trophies; Messrs John Cobbe and Co., Rayworth and Co., McGruers’ Ltd., Feilding Sash and Door Co., Humphreys and Andrews, W. Carthew and Son, Lyceum Theatre Co., Beresford Tea Rooms, Allen's Keen Kut Store, Porter’s Kash and Karry Store, A. E. Winton, Geo. Wells, H. Smithcrs, W. P. Garder, and E. C. Haybittle. During the day a sports programme was conducted with the following results:— Feilding Office, 100yds Handicap: Walker 1, Knox 2 Ladies’ race: Miss D. Wells I’, Miss D. Foster 2. 100yds open handicap: Amos 1, Wells 2. Hurdle Race: Walton 1, Wells 2. Three-legged race: Mrs Walker and Walton 1. Wheelbarrow race: Miss Ford and Sutherland 1. Chain stepping (ladies): Mrs Walker 1. Ladies’ race; Miss Bell 1, Boys’ race: Price 1, Pratt 2.
