MAKING ROAD SCHOOL
ANNUAL PICNIC. The annual picnic of the Makino Road School was held at Johnston Park on Wednesday last. Despite the unpromising appearance of the early morning the day kept fine allowing the children to have a real good time at, the park. Happy children with their parents and friends from the whole district arrived per motor car and motor lorry at about 10 a.m. While the billy boiled numbers of the youngsters disported themselves in bathing pools after which they did full justice to the picnic fare. The afternoon was spent in races and games for young and old. Of course, there was the inevitable' lollie scramble and another dip before tea. It was a tired but happy party that left for homo about 5 o’clock, all pleased with their day’s outing and all greatly taken with Johnston Park.
