COMEDY OF LOST TRAIN
A Southern Kailway train lost its way at New Year, and had to return to London to bo put right. Loaded with newspapers nd Christmas parcels, it left London at 3.35 a.m. for Folkestone and Dover. Owing to the occupation of Sevenoaks tunnel by the engineers, the train should have gone by Croydon and Oxted. Some confusion, however, occurred, and it was sent by New Cross. Its unexpected arrival at Chislchurst led to inquiries, and the truant train was ordered back to London bridge. It set forth again from London at 5.10 with implicit instructions] as to its route, and arrived at its des-1 tination about three hours late.
