OFFICIAL PROTEST MADE. HONGIvONK, February 8. Another outrage has been perpe-: trated upon British property in China, j The British Consulate at Sha si, a I treaty port in the province of Hu-peh, was commandeered by Chinese troops yesterday. The British Consul j has protested to General Chiang Kai-1 slick. Other seized buildings include I the naval wireless station. j Up to the present there have been no other untoward incidents. Owing to the posting of Chinese billeting, notices on British buildings at Ichang, | the Consul sent a communication to' the Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, protesting against the action. j Canton is showing signs of betterment. The Government is placing an order in Hongkong for British automobiles.
