The first games in the final round of the Senior Championship were con eluded on tho Sportsground on Saturday afternoon. The -wicket though fast was very truo, though tho outfield tore a very parched appearance. Palmerston secured a three-point win over R.5.A,., a determined stand by Hollier and Boss staving off a fourpoint victory. As a result of this win Palmerston aro in an unassailable position at the head of tho Championship ladder. With only two maches to bo played, they have a total of 21 points against Old Boys’ 14. Old Boys, mainly through a fine century by Pacey, turned the tables .on School for a three-point win. They are now runners-up on tho Championship ladder. Palmerston’s Easy Win.

Requiring 374 to reach Palmerston ’a first innings ’ total E.S.A. slumped l>ad ly for 103 runs. Day (41) aud MeSweeney (19) wore the only batsmen to cX'r effective resistance. Folhtvxng on, they played out time with the score board showing 164 for 8 wickets. Hollier (61 not out) was tho mainstay, batting throughout tho innings. Bennett (10), McLaren (19), Mclvor (11), Jensen (10) also contributed well while for B.S.A. trundled well securing thres wickets for (12 runs An exciting finish saw P. and T. secure a three-point victory by 11 runs. THIRD GRADE. Albion had an easy win over Kia Ora by 130 runs. Batting iirst, Albion made IG2 against which Kia Ora could only muster 63. In a seednd innings which could not affect the result, Elia Ora made 106 for six wickets. Gordon (170) beat Phoenix (73) by 97 runs.
