MAN’S FALL FROM STACK CAUSES DEATH

FATAL ACCIDENT AT WHAKAEONGO An accident which was ultimately to have fatal consequences, occurred at Whakarongo on Friday when a man named Neil Kardehy fell from a hay stack to the ground, dislocating his neck. The sufferer when .picked up complained of pains in the neck. A doctor was summoned and ordered him immediately to the hospital, but the patient died after an operation on Saturday evening. A postmortem was hold, at which it was discovered that death was due to dislocation of the neck. An inquest will bo held on Wednesday morning. Sudden Fall to Ground. Kardoby, who was employed by Mr B. Mewdick, of Whakarongo, was assisting with the haymaking at about half past five on Friday afternoon. While engaged in finishing off the stack, he was suddenly observed to slip without any warning and fall to the ground apparently falling on his head. The distance of the fall was between 15 and IS feet, so that the shock was naturally very severe. No reason can at present bo given for the man’s fall, although it is suggested that he was suddenly overcome by dizziness..
