HERD TESTING

Manawatu Association Remits FOR MONTH OF JANUARY The production of butter-fat is being well maintained in spite of the continued dry spell, though the falling off is more noticeable for the month of January than the corresponding period last year. The average over the whole association is 33.36 lbs. butterfat per cow, which must bo considered very good when feed is so dry It will bo noticed in the summary, that the average in some groups is much lower than others. We wish to point out here that this is due to early and late districts. Group No. 7 for instance, will lead for average over the other groups for the season, while the average for the past month is only 25.831bs butter-fat per cow, due to the fact that this district is very early and is now well over the best of its season.
