JULY WEDDING
GODFREY—WILTON, A very pretty w'edding took place at St Paul’s Methodist Church Broad street, on Tuesday the sth. of July, when Daphne Thelma, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hedley G. Wilton of Hiwinui, was married to Harcourt Richard Godfrey of Wellington, second son of Mr and Mrs Ri H. Godfrey of .Bunnythorpe.' ' ■
Tho ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ernest- Parsons. The bride who entered the church on the arm of her, father, was daintly attired in ivory panne velvet. The veil of silk net, which also formed the train, was embroidered in silver butterflies,- and was caught to the head with a coronet of v ' orange blossoms. A shower bouquet of roses, heath and maidenhair fern, with touches of silver, completed a very - dainty toilette. The bridesmaids in attendance were Miss Maud Godfrey, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Nell Stewart who were c harmingly . frocked, the. former in rose crepe-de-chine and gold lace, thb latter in bois-de-rpse and radium lace, both wearing head bands of silver leaves and rose buds and carrying bouquets of roses to tone. The bridegroom wa s attended by his two brothers, Mr. Fred Godfrey as best man and Mr. Harry Godfrey as groomsman. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a beautiful handbag and to the bridesmaids pearl necklaces. After the ceremony the guests were entertained at Freeman’s, the Square. Mrs, Wilton mother of the bride received her guests in .a navy crepe-de-chine frock, with oriental trimming,and a smart navy hat. Mrs. Godfrey, mother of the bridegroom was gowned in a fawn ensemble suit with hat to match. The bouquets which were much admired, were made and presented by Mrs. S. Me. Do wall of Feilding. Later Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey left for the North, the bride travelling in a rose repp dress, with a rose felt hat, and a fawn repp coat trimmed with fur.
