L ' ' i SURPLUS NEARLY A [MILLION. [‘’Times Special.”] ; MARTON, Last Night. The Minister of the P. and T. Department, the Hon. Nosworthy, announced to-day that the Department had just concluded the best year since Its inception. The total receipts of the Department were £3, 220,668, and the payments were £2,846,270, the surplus being £874,396. During the past two years the revenue has increased by £820,000 and the expenditure has decreased by £70,000. - ' V, ; . . ;
