At the annual meeting of the Manawatu Golf Club last evening Mrs L. A. Abraham and Mr. C. Kennedy were elected life members of the club.
The untimely death of Hon. D. H. Guthrie was referred to at yesterday’s annual meeting of the Association by the retiring President (Mr. Jas. Knight). A notion of sympathy with the ■ relatives was carried.
The friends of Mr. and Mrs. Win. Dorn, will learn with regret of the death of their son, Frederick William, which occurred yesterday at the Palmerston North Public Hospital, where he had been an inmate since March 31 of this year. The lad, who was only 16 years of age, met with an unfortuante accident only a short time ago, and his untimely death was the result.
