THE PART THAT GOOD ROADS PLAT. Tho condition of the Palmerston (North-Poxton highway was again mentioned at the Borough Council meeting last evening when the Madge Charabanc Coy. wrote-stating that tho recent letter from the Highways Boari, clearly indicated that the members ol the Board have not the faintest idea of tho condition of tho roads in and .around Palmerston North, especially that portion of the main highway between Palmerston North and Foxton. Tho road is in a deplorable condition, and the company i s seriously considering withholding payment of future highways tax until an attempt is made to place tho roads in a more satisfactory condition. The Council decided to bring the matter before the Highways Board again. Cr. Eliott stated that the Counci', should be greatly interested in the condition of the roads leading into Palmerston North and every effort should be made to get those roads into the best possible order. The prosperity of the town was dependent to a great extent on tho rural ’buses which used those highways.
