WORKING MEN’S CLUB
NEW HOME TO BE ERECTED IMMEDIATELY. The annual general meeting, of the Club was held bn Saturday evening ,the president (Mr F. Pycroft),''; v presided over a large attendance ’ of '■ ■ members. The annual, report and balance sheet showed the Club to be n a sound financial position; . ’• The proposals to erect a inew Club House as agreed to at the recent special s general meeting were finally confirmed. The chairman reported that satisfactory financial arrangements were made, which would enable the work to be taken In hand immediately. _■ ' / > , V The members unanimously endorsed the proposal* laid before the meeting, and the president. In- thanking thorn for the support accorded the" officers, stated that the building to b<* erected, was going to bo a credit .to, ;. , the town, and would be a big improvement -to Cuba street, as four splcudid shops would occupy the «tte . instead of two old residences as at present.
