DROWNED IN RANGITIKEI
YOUNG MAN HOSES HIS LIFE. A young man named Richard Morgan Evans, 23 years of age, was drowned in the Rangitikei river near Scott’s Ferry at 11.30 a.m. yesterday morning. Evans was staying with residents named Simpson and went down to the river with the two Misses Simpson to bathe. It is supposed that he got caught in an under-current. The police commenced dragging operations immediately, but so far the body ha s not been recovered. Evans has been working round about Bulls for some little time past.
