HOKOWHITU SCHOOL
COMMITTEE MEEXI»«. ® The monthly meeting of the Hokowhitu School committee was held last evening. Present: Messrs \V. K. Woodroofe (chairman), A. J. Shailer, M. Voss, J. Heatley, F. Bobbie, G. Lane, F. Amos and C. Hepburn. It was decided to write to the Education Board for an additional room, as the school was overcrowded. The roll was 38S, and the average attendance 350, while the school is only built, for 300, A donation of fixe guineas for the Health Camp was decided upon. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr Trogurtha for painting labels for the school gardens; also to Mr Forrest for a wireless concert. A letter of congratulations is to bo forwarded Miss M. C. Callaghan on passing her examinations. Mrs M. A. Thompson has been appointed relieving teacher vice Mrs Brown resigned. The school closes all day to-day for the show, and will break up for the Christmas holidays on December IV th.
