ORCHESTRAL CONCERT
IN All) OF BAND, With commendable generosity, the Orchestral Society last evening x-e----poated Monday night’s concert, with the object of augmenting the funds of of the Muncipal band. The attendance was small, but, as explained by Mr. J. A, Nash, M.P., when returning thanks to the Society for its effort, the number present did not represent the tickets sold, and the Band consequently was benofltting very considerably, Mr. Nash also referred to the work of Mr. M. Cohen, the conductor, was doing for music in the town. "Wc owe him a great deal,” he said amidst applause, and added that under Mr. Cohen’s leadership, the orchestra could take place with any in the Dominion. A vote of thanks to the Orchestral Society, moved by Mr, Nash, was carried by acclamation.
