RANGIWAHIA

[From Our Own Correspondent.] The weather graciously consented to be fin e on Saturday, so that enthusiasts of the racquet game were able to induluge freely, and Rangiwania were victorious in defeating Kimbolton by 11 sets to 8. Although Rangiwahia did not have it’s strongest team it held i,ts own throuhgout the lay. Many good and exciting games were witnessed by spectators. Afternoon tea and lunch was provided by the ladies. The results are as follow: — Men’s singles.—Smith defeated T. Morgan, 6—2; Millar lost to S. Delhi, 5—6; Shanley defeated Say well, 6—4; J. Beard lost to J. Morgan, I—6; Beard lost |to Huston, 3—6; Jaspers lost to Deroles, 2—6. Ladies' singles.—Mrs. Drewitt lost to Miss C. Mortin, I—6; Miss Drewitt lost to Miss E. Morgan, I—6; Miss Beard lost to Miss A. Delhi, I—6; Mrs. Jones lost to Miss G. Morgan, I—6. Ladies’ doubles. —Misses Martin ana E. Morgan losjt to Mrs. and Miss Drewitt, 4—6; Misses Dcihl and G. Morgan lost to Miss Beard and Mrs. Jones, 3 —6. Men’s doubles. —Smith and Millar defeated Morgan and Deihl, 6 —4; Shanley and Jaspers defeated Huston and Deroles, 6 —l; Say well and Morgan defeated Beard Bros, 6—3. Mixed doubles. —Miss C. Martin and T. Beard lost to Miss G. Morgan and T. Morgan, 4—6. A most successful dance in aid of the tennis club, was held in the Kangiwahia Hall on Saturday, March 28. Good Music, a good floor and good supper all helped in making the dance a success. Mr. P. Husiton (’cello), Misses Martin and Dcihl (piano), Mr. E. Rogers (cornet), supplied the music for the evening, whilst arr. Prujean acted as M.C.
