KILLED BY FALLING LOG

A BUSH TRAGEDY. [Per Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, Last Night. Advice has been received of an accident, resulting in the death of a sawmill hand, Charles Kirkland, on PrU day in the Catlins river district. It appears that a log rolled on to the deceased, causing fatal injuries. Kirkland was thirty-six years of age and employed at the Lauriston mill, Tahakopo. He lost an arm about 20 years ago, as the result of an accident at Waikawa. Deceased leaves a widow and four children.
