NOTES OF THE DAY
The Rev. A. H. Voycc, who was dedicated to Foreign Mission work in the Solomon Islands at the Methodist conference, silting at Dunedin, is an oh] Feilding boy. He was employed for some time on the siaff of the Sash and Door Coy., and was a prominent member of the local Methodist Church. Whilst the red danger light over the Klmbolton road railway crossing is attracting the necessary attention of all and sundry, the lettering is indistinct at night time. It would appear that a- larger sign would have made the lettering “Danger” stand out. However, the red light should be sufficient to warn all drivers of vehicles to exercise a sharp look out. The crumbling up of a section of the bitumen sealed portion of Kimbolton road near the Square is at present receiving the attention of the Borough maintenance staff. The weak portion has been removed and a new founda.tion rolled into place. The work should b e completed in a day or two.
