CONTROL ACTIVITIES
IN SOUTHLAND. THE WARD SYSTEM. Great interest is being taken locally in the Dairy Control Board’s effort to prevent the ward system of election of members (writes the Southland correspondent of the “Press"). Mr Mason, of Middlemarsh, is addressing large meetings of suppliers to co-operative factories throughout Southland, advocating the system, and now Mr Grounds, chairman of the Board, is announced to address meetings at Gore and Invercargill on the 27th inst. It is reported that some very interesting developments in connection with the Board’s powers will come to light during the course of the next few days, and already it is quite public property that some outputs of butter arc not under the Board’s control. ,
