GORGE ROAD BLOCKED
SATURDAY NIGHT SLIP. An unexpected slip of considerable dimensions came down in the Manawatu Gorge on Saturday night, effectively blocking through traffic. It is not expected to be cleared before tomorrow. 1 January does, not often see a slip in the. Gorge. It is surmised that the recent penetrating rains caused a "creep”, which was not noticed until the fall occurred.
