BAN ON WHEAT
FEARS FLAG SMUT. AUSTRALIA INCLUDED ON LIST. [By Electric Cable —Copyright.! [Amt and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Thursday 9.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON January 4. The Department of Agriculture has announced a new quarantine regulation, to become effective on February prohibiting the importation o f wheat from India, Japan, China, Australia, South Africa, Italy and Spain because of the flag smut disease. The entry is also prohibited of all wheat products of the countries named, except such as have been milled, or put through a process, so as to have destroyed all flag smut spores.
