Eandon, Ruddy, and Pranks, managers of three branch banks in Los Angeles have been arrested in Los Angeles following an investigation by detectives of cheque manipulations on a large scale, causing losses totalling £loo.ooo'. John Pronk, the alleged master mind of the conspiracy, fled to Mexico with more than £40,000 of the loot. Landon was his chief assistant, reporting to other institutions that Pronk’s cheques were good. Pronk kept two sots of books and eight different bank accounts. There were Bfty employees in his offices dealing with automobiles, end often handling hundreds at a time with drafts upon cities In the Eastern States.
