WHEAT AND FLOUR
IMPORT REGULATIONS. [per*Press Association.] WELLINGTON Last Night The [Minister of Agriculture to-day made an announcement relative to the ''importation of wheat and flour in the immediate future. He said that notwithstanding the recently gazetted prohibition of importation, gen oral permission is granted for the importation of wheat, flour, wheatmeal and ground wheat, if imported on or after 3 Bth. January, 1928, subject to the following conditions: (1) that such wheat, flour, wheatmeal or ground wheat can be shown to the satisfaction of the Collector of Customs to have been ordered from abroad not later than 7th. January, 1926, and (2) that it will be imported into New Zealand not later than 31st. January, 1926; (3) that except in the case of fowl wheat, which is admitted by permit free of ordinary customs duty, all such gqoda shall pay ordinary duties; (4) that all such goods shall comply with the regulations under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act, 1903.

An announcement of the National Council of Co-operatives to-day says that the plans for a conference in February of all the wheat pools of the United States, Canada, and Australia are expected to receive an Impetus at informal conferences her* during the fourth annual conference of the National Council of the Farmers’ Co-operative Marketing Association which is being held from January 12 to 18.
