FREEZING WORKERS’ LATEST CLAMS
iasterton Men Support the South DEMANDS REFUSED BY CANTERBURY EMPLOYERS [Per Press Association.] ' MASTERTON Last Night. A stop-work meeting of workers engaged at the Waingawa freezing works was held yesterday. Mr A. McLeod (secretary of the Wellington Freezing Workers Unionj and Mr R. Semple being present. After a two hours’ discussion, the following resolution was unanimously carried “That this stop work meeting of Masterton freezing workers wholeheartedly supports the Canterbury demands for increased rates, believing them to be reasonable and Just, and further pledges itself to take whatever action is deemed advisable in support of them.” It was further agreed by resolution that no men should go south until the dispute is settled. INCREASED PAY REFUSED. CHRISTCHURCH. Jan. 6. The demands of the Canterbury freezing workers for increased pay were refused. Work is proceeding.
