Lord Harris, in an interview, disapproved of the suggestion that county matches should be suspended during testa, as, in his opinion, it would be disastrous to the weaker counties. “Why,” h e asked, “should England rest: the Australians will be playing equally hard without the same number of players to call upon?" Me declared that h e strongly opposed trial matches before th e selection of Enar'and's' team.
