Madaren urges the immediate appointment of a test match captain and th e tentative selection of a learn based on the captain’s wishes. He recommends the suspension of the county championship during 1920, so os to' prevent the overworking of bowlers and batsmen, and to enable the development of a dashing style necessary to win tests. The Australians have mastery of strategy which may prevent England from winning “We have been beaten in the past,” h e says, “because of our mistakes, principally in slip-fielding. I think we will win if the material is properly managed, but the time to start is now.’*
