The Irish .boundary discussions arc continuing. Mr, Churchill and Lords Salisbury and Birkenhead conferred with the Free State representatives and Sir Janies Craig separately. The postponement of the Commission’s award has greatly cased a delicate situation and serves the vital purpose of giving time for further consideration. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Parliamentary correspondent states it is imderstood that Cabinet has agreed to enter into a now agreement, unaer which the Free State will mane a greatly reduced contribution to the British Exchequer .compared with Us original liabilities under the treaty, in return for which, the present boundary will be preserved and the Commissioner’s award withheld. It is hoped the offer will lead to a complete settlement of all outstanding difficulties.
