ACCIDENT ON DAYLIGHT “LIMITED”
AXLE BROKEN. PASSENGERS TRANSFER TO FRONT COACHES. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND. Last Night. , Advice has been received that * carriage on the Wcllingtou-Auckland daylight "Limited” broke an axle between Porootarao and Waimiha shortly after six o’clock to-night. The carriage loft th 0 rails. The rear portion of the train was left at the scene, the passengers transferring to the front portion, which is expected to arrive at half-past one to-morrow morning. [The “Times” received private advice from Taumarunui this morning that the ordinary express, due to leave Taumarunui at midnight for Auckland, had been delayed for two hours. There was no casualties in the accident to the preceding train.]
