Alfred Coley, carrier, was ordered to pay Ivan Wilson, medical practitioner (Mr. Clayton) £5 3/-, In default seven days’ imprisonment. Maintenance. An order W'as made against Ernest Bacon for the payment of 10/ -a week toward the maintenance of his child, with £lO medical expenses, witness’ expenses £1 and solicitor’s fee £2 2/Land Agent’s Commission. Reserved judgment was given in th» case where Jabez B. Wilton, lane, agent, of Palmerston North, proceeded against H. Meredith Garner and May M. Garner (Miss), drapers of Palmerston North, for £B7 15/- as commission allegedly due on the disposal of a lease. Mr. Stout said that in his opinion the arranging for the lease was nil essential part of the contract . It was the consideration on the goodwill; no goodwill would have been payable on a more sale of goods. He accepted the plaintiff’s evidence that defendants offered to pay commission on the lease. Judgment was entered for £SB 10/-. (five per cent, on £1170) and costs.
