PARAMOUNT THEATRE. Gloria Swanson is the star who was sent by Paramount to France to play the leading part in their latest offering “Madame Sans Gene," now' showing at the Paramount Theatre. Mies Swanson was the only American in the cast of this glittering picture of the Napoleonic period of France, iin the actual palaces that echoed with the praise of the victories of the great Emperor, with the art treasures of a nation, “Madame Sans Gene” tells the well-known stovy of the laundress who became a Duchess. In It Gloria Swanson scores the greatest triumph of her career and while making the picture, romance entered the studiO| other than in the script of the play. ROSY. The 3-hour programme containing "His Darker Self”, a 5-reel comedy, “The Tango Cavalier”, a 5-reel melodrama and good supporting films will be shown at the Kosy for the last screenings. The comedy in this bill is a gem. PALACE. “THE EARLY BIRD.” Johnny Hines, the inimitable screen comedian, whose latest feature, "The Early Bird," a Master picture, is a great coiner of catchy phrases, sc much that many of them have been taken up the rank and file of people all over the country. Moat of these expressions which appear in the subtitles of his pictures carry a zip with them that is unforgettable. Among those, which have particularly caught on Arc: “I am a magician by profession, but I cannot take a watch otrt of the pawn-shop.” An apricot’s nothing moro than a sport model prune." “I know a man who onoa had an idea in his head .. . but it died from solitary confinement." “Success lies in what you do with what you bavc.” “Bananas never brought any real money till they set ’em to music.” “This milk is great .. ~ it’s the cat’s.” "The Early Bird’ is chockful of these clever expressions, so don’t miss it!
