CHURCH AND DANCING

THE PRESBYTERIAN VIEW, “INCALCULABLE HARM DONE.” The subject of dancing was referred to by the Rev. L. H. Hunt in an address at tho Mount Eden Presbyterian Church. Ho reraax-ked that the decision of tho Presbyterian General Synod, which discussed the matter recently in Dunedin, had apparently been misunderstood. It was being stated that the assembly did not altogether regard dancing with disfavour, provided it was kept within bounds. The speaker said that was not so. Mr Hunt said that possibly at a later date he would deliver a special address on the subject. The revelations brought to light during the discussion of the subject by the assembly went to show that incalculable harm was being wrought to the welfare of the girls and young women of the community by the present conduct of many of the dance socials.
