Ships’ captains, of the owners, and members of the British seamen’s strike executive have been formed into a committee to arrange for the manning of ships affected by the Strike. Men who have not rejoined the Betana, Hurunui and Tairoa by live to-morrow night will be posted as deserters. In Melbourne where a similar committee is acting the men will be given till flv® on. Wednesday night to rejoin When the ships whose crews are at the same port have been manned the question of placing men whose ships * are at other ports will be dealt with. Finally the cases of men whose ships have left Australia will be con' sidored, and an endeavour will bo made to place them in other vessels. NO ACTION IN DEPORTATION CASES. NEW SPIRIT AMONG WATERSIDERS. (Received Monday, 10.10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, November 30. The Transport Group and Key Industry Unions’ Conference decided to ■refuse to recommend any form of strike against the deportations. ADELAIDE, November 30. Referring to the deportation ofWalsh and Johnson. Mr. Condon, president of the Adelaide Trade s ond Labour Council said there was going to be no trouble as far as Adelaide was concerned. Mr. Thompson, president of the Watersiders’ Union, said the watcrside workers were determined at ail costs that Australia should not be dragged into a strike over the aep'ortotions. The watersiders would carry the burden no longer. The men Were working amicably with the ship owners. They had received a rair . deal and would give ono in return. He said waterside workers would maintain law and order at Port Adelaide, SYDNEY. The Walsh-Johnson case was again before the High Court to-day. The case of Walsh was taken first. Counsel for Walsh argued that the case had been improperly removed from the jurisdiction of the Full Court to the High Court.. The hearing was adjourned till to-morrow. Later. SYDNEY, November 31. The transport group met' and adjourned indefinitely without reaching a decision regarding deportation cases.
