FAT LAMB SEASON
Although the fat lamb season opened In Canterbury last year the first fortnight in December, It is doubtful If there will be sufficient fat lambs about to warrant the companies starting before New Tear. For all the stock that is likely to be available, it would bo an unpayable proposition for tho works to open for ten flays or • so. The earlier forecasts regarding prices are not now so optimistic. The companies are not so likely to run the market up as they were last season. Most of them have too heavy a debit to carry over to the new season. Whilst the actual figure is uncertain I the general belief la that the earner idea of lid per lb will not be forthcoming. About iOid represents t&e general onialoa.
