AUCKLAND WOOL SALE

SLIGHT FALL IN AVERAGE RATES.

[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND. Last Night. At the Auckland wool sale, 10,221 bales were offered and ninety per cent, sold. Buyers representing Bradford, France, Italy, Japan, Belgium, America, local mills and scourers were 'represented In full force. Among the prices realised wore the- following:— Corriedale, fine half-bred, ISid to 20d; .average, IGd to 17fd, Fine cross-bred: super, ICd to Hid; average, 14id to 16d; Inferior, Hid to 12id. Medium cross-bred: super, 18Jd to Isd; average, 12d to 13d; Inferior, SJd to Hid. Coarse cross-bred: Super, 13d to ,t4Jd; average, 12d to 13d; inferior, lOd to lid.

Low oross-bred: average, lid to 12id.; Inferior, 8d to lid. Bellies, pieces, crutchings and locks sold at very satisfactory prices. French buyers were the principal operators for lambs’ wool and for lots they appeared to have elastic limits.

HIDES AND SKINS. [Special to “Times.”] WELLINGTON Last Night. Messrs Hurray Roberts and Co., report:—We submitted a good catalogue of sheepskins and hides at to-day’s sale. There was a large attendance of buyers and bidding was brisk at the level of last sale. Dry skins were in exceptionally strong demand and hides also keenly sought at the equivalent of last sales prices. Light weight cowhides were tending firmer. The range'of prices for sheepskins was:— Fine crossbred 12id to 143 d, medium coarse crossbred 103 d to 13Jd; halfbred lOd to 15d; short to half wools Did to Hd; lambs Hid to 133 d; pelts 71 to 10id; damp, salted and green 7/6 to 12/6; pelts, salted 2/- to 3/9; lambs’ salted 3/- to 3/11; hides, ox, 'heavy, 9 l-Bd, medium 7 3-8 dto 8 7-Bd, light 6 5-8 d to 6 7-8, cow. heavy 6 5-8 to 6 7-8, medium 6 1-Sd to <? 6 5-8 to 6 7-8, medium 6 1-8 to 6 7-8 light 6 5-8 to 7i, yearlings 63 to 8d; 6 5-8 dto 7Jd, yearlings 62d to 8d; calf, medium Hid to 13d. Tallow casks 11/- to 33/-, tins 14/6 to 29/Horsehair 2ld.
