The Aorangi was held up here foi several hours to-day in the custody of the United States Marshal, pending the filing o fa bond to cover proceedings brought against du ship by William Howard Doody, an actor and his wife. Doody alleged that on the last trip from Sydney, a steward “boat him up” and slandered him. The couple claim damages amounting to twenty-six thousand dollars for loss of contracts, personal injuries, slander and doctors’ bills.
