ICE AGE BRIDGE
Perfectly Preserved In Dortmund Mine FASHIONED WITH MAMMOTH’S TEETH. [By Electric Cable-—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Gable Association.] (Received Monday, 7 p.m.) BERLIN, July 12. A perfectly preserved oaken footbridge forty yards long, consisting ot planed planks fastened with oaken clamps, which ice age men contracted across a marshy river bed, has been unearthed in a mine shaft at Dortmund. Archaeologists are of opinion that it is fifty thousand years old. It is the most important pre-his-toric discovery for years and proves the intelligence and skill of the ico men, whose only implements were mammoths’ teeth.
