TRENTHAM SECOND DAY. Income Wins Parliamentary Handicap. CHIEF SPRINT TO REHtITAT. PETER MAXWELL THE HURDLES (Special to ‘Times.’'—Copyright.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. On the strength of his good form on the opening day, Glenidlo was made a pronounced favourite for the Hack Hurdles, and though ho ran a good race, he was soundly beaten by Peter Maxwell, who paid a fair price. Passing the stand the first time. Rippling was in front from Glonidle, Peter Maxwell. Kendal and Glument, with Lady Gay last. Six furlongs from homo, Glonidle, who was pulling hard, joined Rippling in the lead, and Peter Maxwell was just in behind the pair, with Kendal. Glument and Tenterfield following. Glenidlo took charge at the half mile, but Peter Maxwell ran to Ihc front a little later, led into the straight and subsequently went or. to win by three lengths from Glenidlo, while ten lengths back came Haligan, who was hard ridden just to beat Rippling for third position. Kendal was fifth. To Monanui The Maiden.

To Monanui was favourite for the Maiden, and there was plenty of support for Lieutenant Bill and Town Crier. Te Monanui was drawn wide out, but he began well and was handy to the. front all the way. Relic was in front approaching the straight, but the favourite was going easily and a furlong from homo lie took charge, and went away to win by four lengths from Captain Wai, Half a dozen lengths away were Kilorum and Town Crier. .Kehutai a Moral. Backed as a certainty, Kehutai won the Jutland Handicap well, after losing her position half way through the race. Hoislcr led on to the course proper from Hcuador, and a little later Tinohan showed up. Rehutai and Hoodoo came at the leaders at the distance and Kehutai wore them all down, to win by a length and a half from Ecuador, who finished veil enough to e.ut Koodoo out of second money by a nose. Killocra was a fair fourth and the next to finish were Tinohari, Hcielcr, Lady Ben and Pink Rose. Sir Wai the Hack Steeples. Peter A mans and Windermere were the favourites for the Hack Steeples and the next in demand was Tuesday's winner, Lady Comet. Windermere went to the front at the start and lod over the first jump and along the back, he piloted Peter Amans, Birkenella, Kovno, Lady Comet and Sir Wai. Peter Amans was in charge crossing the top and ho led into the straight, but ,at the stand double, Sir Wai had taken up the running from Birkcnclla, with Peter Amans, Lady Comet and Konvo next, and Windermere and Kaika last. Peter Amans stopped at the sod wall seven furlongs from homo, and lost his rider. With half a mile to go. Birkenella had charge from Lady Comet, Sir Wai and Bonny Rill. A good race up the straight between Birkenella and Sir Wai resulted in favour of the latter by three-quarters of a length, with Lady Comet eight lengths away, third, and Bonny Rill fourth. Kaika and Kovno were next. Blue Hall fell at the last fence. Income the Mud-Lark. The Parliamentary Handicap sawthe success of one of the best mud horses in the country, Income, carrying 11. a, and winning after a good finish with Kilfanc. A good start was effected, Zircon and Arch Salute were the slowest to move and Income, on the rails, led out of the straight from Kilfanc, but at the mile post ..-Marie, pulling hard, had rushed to the front. Next to the leader were Kilfanc, Kilfairc. Income, Kuhio and Zircon. Passionate went to the front six furlongs from homo and was attended by Alaric, Kilfaire, Kalakaua and Kilfanc. Passionate still had command crossing the top and close behind him were Kiifane, Kilfairc and Income. Although Passionate was the first into the straight, Income and Kilfairc soon came at him and Income took charge just below the distance. In a good finish. Income, who had to be kept going all the way, won by half a length from Kiifane. Arch Salute was two and a half lengths away in third place Alaric was fourth and then came Kilfairc. Passionate, Zircon, Kalakaua and Kuhio. Comical’s Turn. The top weights, Nukumal and Comical, carried the heaviest of the investments in the High Weight Handicap, and both ran good races. Bonibrook led out of the straight from Nukumal, and at the mile, Bonecto had taken command, being followed by Bonibrook, Dubious and Nukumal, with Comical improving his position. Comical had charge as the field turned for home ,and although he was challenged by General Carrington and Nukumai, ho beat them both. General Carrington was three lengths behind Comical, and Nukumal was another half length away. Captain Sarto was a poor fourth, nd Lucullent was fifth. Horsemanship ami Kilia. The money poured in for Rowley when the machine opened on the Fleet Handicap and the best backed of the others were Kilia and Adi Vunivola. Kilia was the first to show out from a good start, with Revel handy, and Rowley most prominent of the others, while Gardant .and Anticipate were last. Rowley had taken charge at the five furlongs peg, and Lucrative had moved up into second place, Kilia. Whariti and Gardant being next. Adi Vunivola came very fast just before the turn for home and was just behind Rowley as the straight was entered, with Kilia and Gardant. both close up. Rowley shot out iu the run home and looked to be a good thing, until Barry sat down and sent Kilia along with a. determined final run. The latter got up to win by a length from Rowley, and Adi Vunivola was third, four lengths away. Gardant was fourth. Jubilee fifth and Anticipate sixth. Rob’s Easy Task. The Petone Handicap was won very easily by Rob, who went to the front two furlongs from home and drew away to win by three lengths from .Ardfinnan, who heat Highflown by a nose for second.
