CANADIAN NATIONAL FLAG
PROPOSAL DROPPED, [By Electric Cable—Copyright.] [Aust. and N.Z. Cable Association.] (Received Wednesday, 2 a.m.) LONDON, June 22. The “Times” correspondent says the Canadian Government, apparently impressed by the strength of agitation against the adoption of a new Dominion flag, has now announced that it has no intention of proceeding with the proposal to prepare a design for a Canadian National flag, and the committee appointed to prepare a design has been discharged. It is stated that further action has been postponed, pending a discussion in Parliament, but the opinion prevails that the proposal has been permanently dropped.
