THE £IOO DONATION.
(To the Editor). Sir, —Father Lynch now substitutes the word “nominate” for that used in his letter of Juno 4, which was “select” possibly in retraction of his hasty avowal. Mr Mander’s invitation was to “propose” a committee. For the good Father’s benefit lot me, without any offensive intent, repeat an experience of my young days: “When I are the father an’ you am the little boy, 1 wouldn’t hit him hard when I get angry.” Thus protested the tearful little lad after punishment. I was proud to think that ho had kept his balance through the ordeal. His crudely expressed logic brought forth a lecturettc upon the misuse of the personal pronouns as the only resource of the aggressor, but it carried a life-long lesson to the father. The three judges having been “proposed,” “selected.” “nominated, “appointed,” and “approved," let us to this feast of reason with all good will one to another. I am, etc., J. H. STEVENS.
