Burglar Saws Through Two Floors AND TREATS HIMSELF TO SUPPER. [Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Last Night The Auckland police received advice to-day that Maurice McAuliffe had been arrested at Arapuni on a charge of. breaking and entering the shop of Mark Salas, outfitter of Victoria Street, Auckland. Accused was charged at the Putaruru Court and remanded to Auckland. The \rcumstances of the burglary, which occurred between Saturday, May 30 and Monday, June 1 wore peculiar. Entrance was effected through the roof, a sheet of iron being removed while holes were cut in the ceiling of the top floor shop, and then In the ceiling of.- Salas’ shop below. Investigation showed that a man had boiled a kettle at the back of the shop, made a cup of cocoa, and had a shave before departing through the front door with a suitcase containing goods valued at £75.
