Special Christmas services were held in the Presbyterian Church Sunday evening, Mr A. Cllmie ociating. At the conclusion of the service, Mr Climle with a few appropriate remarks, presented the organist (Miss G Williams) wlh a beautiful wristlet watch as a mark of appreciation of her services during the year. , ~ . „ A special service is to be held in the Methodist Church at 7.30 p.m. on Christmas day. A collection will betaken up during the evening in aid of Orphanage funds. The annual picnic in connection with the above church is to be held on Mr R. Fergusson’s property at Kakariki on New Year’s Dav. Services will also be held in the Anglican Church at 9.30 a.m. on Christmas Day. •Mr and Mrs J. Maegaard have left for Auckland to spend the holidays. Great difficulty is being experienced by the farmers in cutting the autumn sown crops.
