PRICES DECLINE Jd ON WELLINGTON RATES. [Per Press Association.] TIMARU, Last Night. The first wool sale of the season opened here to-night before a full bench of buyer. The top price was 343 d for 8 bales of sup. halfbred Prices were down 3d on the first Christchurch sale and id down on the recent Wellington sale. The range of prices up to midnight was as follows: Medium Merino, 27d to 303 d; low Merino, 25<1 to 26Jd; super halfbred, 29d to S43d; halfbred, 27d to 29d; medium, 23d to 261 d; first halfbred pieces, -ltd ’o 27d; seconds, 19d to Bid; first Corriedalc hoggets, 2Sd to 33d: medium, 25d to 2 7 id; super threequarterbred, 25d to 27id; throequarterbred, 22d to 24?.d; medium throequarterbred to 21td; low threequarterbred. 19d to 203 d; first pieces, 17d to 20d; second pieces, 15id to 16id; threequarterbred hoggets, 231 d to ?6Jd: dead wool, Ist, 20 i d to 265 d; second, 18d to 20td; half-bred bellies, 22?.d to 26d; crossbred bellies, IGd to 171 d; black, 15d to 173 d: fine crutchings, 16Jd to 203 d; coarse crutchings, 13d to 15d; halfbred locks, up to 144 d; crossbred locks lid to 13d: stained pieces, up to 13d.
